You don't have to figure it all out on your own.
College and graduate school can be exciting, but they can also be overwhelming. Between classes, exams, papers, internships, projects, work, relationships, finances, and trying to figure out what comes next, it can feel like there is never enough time or energy to catch your breath.
I provide warm, practical online counseling for college and graduate students throughout Washington State. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, self-doubt, a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can give you a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and move forward.

I know what student life actually feels like.
I didn't take a traditional path through higher education, and I've spent many years experiencing what it's like to be a student in very different circumstances.
I studied internationally, earning my bachelor's degree in Italy for only a few thousand dollars and later completing a master's degree in Work and Organizational Psychology in Spain for a little under $2,000. I eventually returned to the United States to earn a second master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University.
I've experienced education in many different formats and environments, from completely in-person programs to hybrid learning and fully online coursework. I've studied at institutions in multiple countries and across different cultures. Along the way, I frequently worked as a freelancer in marketing, which meant juggling school alongside deadlines, clients, and competing responsibilities.
So I know what it's like to stay up late studying for an exam or preparing a project. I know what it's like to work while going to school and wonder how you're going to fit everything into the week. I know what it's like to live as cheaply as possible while you're a student, think about student loan payments, and worry about whether you're making financially responsible decisions.
I've also experienced the uncertainty that can come with choosing a career. Sometimes you can spend years working toward a particular degree and still wonder, Is this actually what I want to do? Changing direction can feel like failure when it may actually be a sign that you're learning more about yourself.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You can come exactly as you are.
Counseling for the challenges students face
As a student, your mental health can affect virtually every part of your life. I can help you work through challenges such as:
Anxiety, excessive worry, and overthinking
Academic stress and pressure to succeed
Burnout and exhaustion
Depression and low motivation
Procrastination and difficulty getting started
Perfectionism and fear of failure
Imposter syndrome and self-doubt
Difficulty adjusting to college or graduate school
Major life and career transitions
Uncertainty about your major or career path
Balancing school, work, relationships, and other responsibilities
Financial stress and concerns about the future
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
Trauma and difficult past experiences
Feeling isolated, disconnected, or like you don't belong
Stress related to moving away from home or living independently
A place to talk honestly about what's going on
Sometimes you don't need someone to tell you how to study harder, manage your time better, or simply "try not to stress."
You need a place where you can honestly say:
"I'm exhausted."
"I don't know if I'm on the right career path."
"Everyone else seems to have it together except me."
"I'm afraid I'm going to fail."
"I can't stop overthinking everything."
"I don't know what I want anymore."
Therapy can be a space to explore those thoughts without judgment. We'll work together to understand what's contributing to your stress and develop practical ways to cope, build confidence, and create meaningful change.

Therapy that works with your schedule, and your budget
I understand that finding affordable mental health care can be difficult when you're a student. I accept many major insurance plans, which may significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost depending on your specific plan and benefits.
Insurance plans I currently work with include:
Aetna
Anthem
Blue Cross Blue Shield — most plans
Cigna and Evernorth
First Choice Health (FCH)
First Health
Kaiser / Kaiser HMO / Kaiser PPO
Magellan
Moda Health
MultiPlan / PHCS
Optum
Premera / Premera Blue Cross
Regence
TriWest
Uniform Medical Plan (UMP)
United Medical Resources (UMR)
Insurance coverage varies by plan, employer, and location. Before beginning therapy, I recommend confirming your specific mental health benefits and whether your plan covers the services you need.
You don't have to wait until you're in crisis.
You don't have to be failing classes. You don't have to be completely burned out. And you don't need to know exactly what's wrong before reaching out.
Maybe you've noticed that you're more anxious than usual. Maybe you're constantly putting things off because you're overwhelmed. Maybe you're questioning your career direction. Maybe you're doing well academically but privately struggling to keep everything together.
Whatever brings you here, therapy can give you a dedicated space to work through it.
If you're a college or graduate student in Washington and you're ready for support, I'd be glad to talk with you.
